We use the Georgia Common Core Math tasks for a lot of our activities. This one was great! Students had fun with a Battleship like math game- Array Challenges. Students secretly selected an array, had to use the commutative property to write the multiplication sentence two ways, and then had to compare the final product with their partner. The bigger product wins!

Fairy Tale Fun
We loved out fairy tale unit! Here, students are working together to compare and contrast two versions of Cinderella. First, the classic version. The second, a Native American version. Fun and so meaningful!

Jelly Bean Arrays
We built yummy arrays with jelly beans! Students started with 16 jelly beans and then arranged them into equal rows. We created a flip flap book to record the array, the repeated addition sentence and the multiplication equation. Yum!
This lesson comes from Ashleigh Swinford's multiplication unit!

Teacher Store!
Well, long time no post! I'm proud to say that I have opened my first Teacher Shop with Teacher's Notebook. Fingers crossed- it will be a success! I've started the shop with two free items.
Visit my shop at: http://www.teachersnotebook.com/shop/k8lyn29
First, an editable Curriculum Map. You can open it with word and customize it to your needs.

It isn't show up in my teacher store YET. Apparently your first product has to be approved. So, check back if it still isn't there.
Next, my favorite current trend in the classroom- Task Cards! Yes! I've created a set of 24 back to school task cards. These aren't showing up in the Teacher's Notebook shop yet, either. So, I'll attach the link here. Just click on the picture for your copy.
Enjoy!
